Top 5 NCAA Prospects: Which NBA Team Each Player Fits

1. Karl-Anthony Towns PF, Kentucky- Karl Anthony Towns has closed the gap on who the best NCAA prospect is. He has help lead Kentucky to there 37-0 record to this day. He is also a huge reason many people believe that Kentucky could make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. He is very versatile, can run the court for a big man, and spreads the floor better than Jahlil Okafor does. He is strong and is a much better defender and rim protector as well. Towns will fit more teams needs than Okafor will in my eyes. Towns can even come out to hit a 10-15 footer, while Okafor simply can only score from 5 feet or in. Towns is also much more explosive which helps a lot in the NBA. It looks like Towns has the most NBA potential while Okafor is the safest pick.

Team Fits- Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Utah Jazz, and Philadelphia 76ers

2. Jahlil Okafor C, Duke- Okafor coming into the season was the consensus First Overall pick in this draft. Towns has turned it on lately and looks to have more potential in this league than Jahlil has but, Okafor is the safest pick. You know what you are getting with him. He dominates inside the paint and has some of the best inside moves to have. He does not have great defense and is much slower than Towns getting up and down the court. That is why He is the second best prospect in my opinion. Teams need more stretch Forwards in this league than one dimensional Centers.

Team Fits- New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Orlando Magic

3. D’Angelo Russell SG/PG, OSU-  D’angelo Russell reminds me a lot of James Harden. He has a low crossover, can drive, and can shoot the ball with confidence. He shoots the lights out when he’s on and no one can stop him  when he is like that. Thats the type of players teams like the Philadelphia 76ers really need bad. He can be a NBA great if he learns some defense as well. Russell is an above average rebounder and passer.

Team Fits- Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Los Angeles Lakers

4. Stanley Johsnon SF, Arizona- Stanley Johnson is just an athletic freak and can also shoot the ball very well. He has great defense as well which is highly overlooked when people talk about him. He cane un the court better than anyone in this draft. I mean you must be good when the great Reggie Miller says ” …He’s Lebron James reincarnated.” Stanley Johnson is a beast and is showing in the tournament.

Team Fits- Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers, and Orlando Magic.

5. Myles Turner C, Texas- Myles Turner is an absolute monster in college and i believe those skills will translate into the NBA game. He is a big body that can rebound, has range, plays defense, and has good inside the paint moves. He will be a great pickup for any team that needs a big man inside the paint.

Team Fits- Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers, Phoenix Suns, and Miami Heat.
