Electric Halloween electrifies audience

Grandaire Booking hosted their first Electric Halloween Festival. After four years of hosting a Halloween show with only 5-10 bands performing, the Grandaire crew decided to take thing to new heights. With more than 30 bands performing and a numerous activities that anyone can enjoy, from the 30 October to the 1 of November it was the place to be at for all rockers.

Maribeth, who is in charge of public relations in Grandaire Booking, mentioned that every year more and more people would show up to their shows. At last years show over 300 people attended. Her and Jose Martinez, President of Grandaire Booking, decided to take the event to Paradise Lakes campground.

With countless of activities and contests to participate in no one was ever bored. From a costume contest, pumpkin throwing contest, a magic show, and fire performances. Not only that but Hammonton’s own Tacos al Carbon and Santiago Morales were there selling food and authentic merchandise from places such as Peru and Mexico.

However, Hammontonians and people all around South Jersey weren’t the only ones that attended. Fauve, from Delaware, attended the festival as well along with her husband and three kids.

The festival held over 30 bands performances throughout the weekend. Such as Pines, Brock Landers, Awesome Teenage Democracy, and Your Persona. Although, Electric Halloween was one of the last shows for Me Versus I, together since 2010. According to Jon Sudano, drummer, “ it’s like a relationship, it runs its course and kind of have to take a break from each other.”

Jon has been playing for 11 years, self taught, and had always wanted to be in a band as a young boy.

“Music is kind of like a driving force for a lot of people,” he said. “ But it can also be kind of a burden to others especially when you’re trying to focus on other things in your life and it just becomes too much.”

Electric Halloween is just slice of what Grandaire Booking has to offer. With countless of shows and other festivals such as SAD Fest to come this year and the upcoming year as well. It will provide you with performances of local bands of all different genres of music for you to enjoy.
