Where Are They Now? : Your Persona

Matt Campione, who graduated Hammonton High School in 2009, started an acoustic project which was assigned to him by Italian teacher Mrs. Elizabeth Adair in 2008. Campione and a friend were asked to play at an Italian dinner event, students would perform dances, skits and songs. The two wrote 6 songs and they were well liked. Within the next 4 years Jeremy Spahn, Jose Martinez, and Tyler Mazza were added to the mix. This is when the group finally found their sound.

The group played one show with the help of Matt’s good friend Michael Pezzuto, who was part of the company Grandaire Booking. After their first outstanding performance they realized they were turning into something much bigger. They began to play small venues such as The First United Methodist Church of Hammonton, Hammonton’s DAV, and their most popular venue ‘The Shed’ conveniently placed in Pezzuto backyard. This was the start of the small town band who is now on their way to the top, Your Persona.

Currently Your Persona is touring through Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, then finally returning home to New Jersey. They are performing their “So Easy” EP along with other touring bands. Their music has a similar sound to bands such as Sleeping with Sirens as well as Falling in Reverse. Their lyrics are darker than most but clearly portray their life struggles.

When the band gets back from tour they are still working on big things. They are excited to announce the release of their new EP ‘Metastatic’ on March 1st through 1787 records. Not only are they releasing their EP but on January 24th they will be recording a new music video. Their first music video “Any Given Moment” was released about a year ago. This video was a huge hit and had cameo’s from the many fans of Your Persona.

Many fans are looking forward to their return and they can not wait to see the other things Your Persona will amount to.
