Mr. Gary Sarno is Physical Eduction teacher and baseball coach at Hammonton High School. He attended the University of Miami.

Outside of school or baseball I like to… get some work done in the yard, get some extra workouts in, and spend time with the family.

I decided to coach baseball because… I played all my life, and after my playing career I needed to be around the game.

I like… dealing with different kids every day, teaching them new things, whether its in the health classroom, the gym, or the baseball field… about my job.

I attended college at… The University of Miami.

My favorite memory as a teacher or coach is… the 2012 sectional championship, because it was the first sectional championship the baseball team has won in 58 years.

The rest of the season, I expect… the kids to work hard, live up to the high expectations everyone has put on this senior class’ talent.

I started playing baseball at the age of… 5 or 6.

My favorite memory of my playing career is… signing a pro contract with the San Francisco Giants.

Some advice I can give young players is… if you work hard to be the best you can be, you’ll reach your goal.

So far, this season has been…  we have a 5-2 record. We could be 7-0, but I’m happy with the direction this team is heading in.
