One of Us: Mrs. Maria Higgins

Mrs. Maria Higgins graduated from St. Joe  High School in 1984. After that, she attended Millersville College, where she graduated in 1988. Mrs. Higgins has been teaching here at Hammonton for twelve years; she teaches CP Italian I and II. I recently had the chance to sit down with one of my favorite teachers and learn more about her.

I am… a mother and a teacher.

If I wasn’t a teacher I would be… an interpreter.

If I could have any super power it would be… to have x-ray vision. It would make it impossible for my students to hide stuff from me.

My life long dream is to… stop teaching and retire in Italy.

When I’m not in school you will find me… lugging my kids around to their various activities.

One thing I hate about teaching is…  Jake Brodbeck. ( :/ She only said that because she loves me)

My biggest fear is…  something bad happening to my kids.

My biggest pet peeve is…  by far close talkers; I hate it when people do that.

If I could be any animal it would be…  a bear because I want to be tall and furry.
