Mr. AJ Barchetto (this year’s winner) poses with, Ms. Wentzell, Ms. Mature, and Mrs. Inemer.

The tradition continues.

As Christmas comes closer, so do the ugly sweaters. Here at Hammonton High School teachers participate in an ugly sweater contest. The contest is taken place on the day before Christmas break and is a huge hit around the building.

Special education teacher Mrs. Maggie Inemer thinks the event is fun, but is mostly focused on winning.

“I enjoy the competition,” she said.

Back-to-back winner for the past two years, special education teacher Mr. AJ Bachetto  is also  very competitive.  The process of selecting the perfect sweater for the contest doesn’t force him to search far and side; in fact, the sweaters are right in the family.

“I get them from my mothers closet,” he said. “The previous winners were full of snowmen, mittens and lights.”

Prior to the contest on Friday, 12/20, faculty members shared their plans.

“I think I am going to look for something with cats,” said chemistry teacher Mr. Ryan Entress.

Thanks to the Renaissance club adviser Mrs. Erin Vilimas, who also teaches math, the winner received baskets full of prizes and the runner ups will be getting cookie mix.

Barchetto went into this year’s competition with as much enthusiasm as years past, and was once again crowned the champion.
