Is it ice cream? No. Is it water Ice? No, its frozen yogurt.

Over the past year, frozen yogurt places have made their way into local towns and the boardwalks down the shore because of their popularity.  As of November 9, JoJo’s Froyo, the town’s first frozen yogurt place, opened on the corner of Bellevue and Central Avenues.

Many students were excited about the opening because it provides a place for teens to enjoy a dessert and hang out.

“It’s not like anything we have had in Hammonton,” said senior Kayshla Pabon. “It’s definitely a place you could make a night out of.”

JoJo’s Froyo features a wide variety of frozen yogurt that a customer could mix and match. The yogurt ranges from low fat, non fat, sugar free, and sorbet. To go along with their frozen yogurt, an extensive toppings bar awaits visitors, featuring everything from cookie dough to M&Ms to  gummy worms.

Student Franki Rudnesky was not disappointed her first time visiting.

“It was so good, the best yogurt I have ever had,” she said. Rudnesky admits to visiting three times in the past week.

The dessert place might be a place to bring a special someone, according to senior Jonathan McCarthy.

“I think that it’s a place I would take my girlfriend to on date night,” he said.

The grand opening will be held Saturday, and the first 250 guests will get a free a t-shirt. All visitors receive 10% off their yogurt all day. The hours are from 11:30 am to 9:00 pm.
