Yearbook staff completes 17-18 book

The yearbook is finally complete, but it is not too late to order yours online now. The students in yearbook club have worked extremely hard to ensure a great book was created. Mr. Preim overlooked the entire yearbook staff, and kept everyone on task during the year.

The book is full of both professional and student photography. Freshman Anna Peretti, junior Harsh Snehal Desai, and junior Jenna Kleshick attended  multiple events and took the amazing pictures that have been used to create the yearbook.

Senior Chief Editor Sarah Richardson worked especially hard to make sure everyone completed their assigned roles, while working on the book as well, while senior editor Dylan Westfall was mainly the sports editor, but made sure to work on any pages that needed to be done, due to the shortage of editors.

Senior Cara Christopher put a lot of her time into the yearbook as well, making sure all of the pictures were tagged for the correct person, and editing any pages she was asked to edit. Sophomores Mackenzie Cappuccio, and Areana Burkett helped edit some pages as well, and were there from the start in August when the theme of the book was determined. The theme this staff came up with was a mix between a seasonal type theme, and “Framing Our Future.”

The seasonal theme can be seen as one turns the pages in the book, starting with some events that students did over the summer, then seeing the beginning of the year and some events that took place during the fall season. Then you can see what events took place in the winter season, and finally the spring season.

Before each season, there is a divider, that describes some big events that took place, and almost is a preview of some of the pages to come, or showing some things that the staff was not able to get their own page, but still was a fun event. The staff decided on this theme because the traditional yearbook that has everything that is similar together gets boring sometimes, and doing this allows students to relive their school year, in the order that the year went.

Finally, towards the end of the book there is a page showing where of the schools seniors are going away next year for college. This page is a big tie in to the theme “Framing Our Future.” This theme was chosen because the staff knows the time at HHS is only temporary and very special. The book reflects on the past, shows the present, but also reminds students of their future, and how they could frame it to be.
