Itinerary of travel for the Europe trip

Itinerary of travel for the Europe trip

Many people dream of being able to travel around Europe and see the Eiffel Tower or the Colosseum of Rome.

The Education First tour will allow students from Hammonton High School to experience this firsthand.

The twelve day tour, planned for the end of June, features an itinerary full of excursions and stops at famous sights in London, Paris, Florence, Rome, and Capri. Students will depart June 18 and return June 29.

Italian teacher Mrs. Lisa Adair, who has led the trip for multiple years in addition to the Costa Rica trip, said that she loves having the opportunity to travel and expose students to the joys of traveling.

“I look forward to running the trip every year,” she said.

Students going on the trip said they are most looking forward to sightseeing and eating in the different countries.

“I can’t wait to see the Eiffel Tower and the Roman Colosseum and just explore Europe with all of my friends,” said sophomore Alexis Flynn.

The trip includes round-trip airfare, transportation including a night train and the famous Eurostar high speed train, hotel accommodations, European breakfast and dinner daily, a full-time tour director, seven tours led by licensed guides and two walking tours, and entrances to ten famous European sights.

Students start off in England and spend two days there visiting Leicester Square, Big Ben, the Piccadilly Circus, St. Paul’s Cathedral and much more. They will then travel by the Eurostar high speed train to Paris where they will visit the Arc de Triumph, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and more. They will then take a walking tour of Paris before departing by night train to Florence. In Florence the students will visit the Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, and watch a leather making demonstration. After Florence students will visit Assisi to visit the Basilica of St.Francis before heading off to Rome.

In Rome, students will take a guided tour of the Vatican City, the Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum, and take a walking tour where they can see the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.

Next, students will visit Pompeii and see the Roman Ruins and then visit the island of Capri where they will enjoy and island cruise before heading home.

Anticipation of the trip is motivating many students who are anxious to wrap up the school year.

“I can’t wait to go on the trip. It gives me something to look forward to after such stressful year and it will definitely be a much needed vacation,” said junior Doug Fusco.

Junior Alexis Lawless Gattone says that this trip is keeping her motivated  through the tough academic struggles of junior year.

“I’ve been looking forward to this trip all year and it gets me through all my schoolwork because once it’s over I get to travel around Europe with my friends and relax,” she said.

Students will depart June 18 and return June 29.
