In your opinion, what is/are the most pressing issue(s) for HHS students this year?

One of the most pressing issues for high school students right now is the fear of uncertainty. For every student right now the future is very unpredictable. Covid has placed many restrictions on fun school activities. It feels like there is nothing to look forward to. During this time we would be preparing for homecoming, but unfortunately it does not look like we are having a homecoming. This uncertainty for students can be depressing and stressful.

What is important about this year/grade (i.e. freshman year, sophomore year, junior year, senior year), and what role do you believe class officers have in making it a successful one?

The most important thing for seniors is planning their future after graduation. This can be very exhausting and stressful. I think the officers have a duty to make senior year more enjoyable and memorable for everyone. It is important as officers to act as a source of happiness in the school for others.

What are some of the strengths of the HHS student community?

A strength that HHS has is all the opportunities it offers. We have a wide range of clubs from the very popular student council to more intimate clubs like book club. HHS also has many sports teams that students can get involved in. It is encouraging to see Hammonton High take into consideration all of the students’ interests.

What are some areas of the HHS experience that could be better?

I believe that Hammonton High School should allow the students to have access to student wifi. Technology usage has increased significantly over the past year and it is important to allow students the ability to use wifi freely. When students are in green zones for phones, we should have access to wifi to use our phones.

What quality do you have that makes you a good candidate for this position?

I have experience working on class council and I know how to work with others to accomplish a specific goal. I am a hard worker and always give 100% to each task.
