The Struggles of Buying a Car: A Perspective

The Struggles of Buying a Car: A Perspective

Every kid dreams of the day they get their license and can have their own car. When this day finally comes some kids have to save up and buy their own vehicle and some are fortunate enough and a family member can buy them one.

I personally had a Nissan Altima, but in January I got in an accident and totaled it. Before the accident I took for granted having a car. I had had a car for over a year so I forgot how much harder everything is when you don’t have one.

Now without a car I had no choice but to get on my grind. I decided to do what was necessary in order to buy myself another car.

I’ve been working at Champs for awhile now but I decided to get a second job due to my current financial situation at the Pic-A-Lilli Inn to help me make a little more money. Having two jobs sucks I’m not going to lie. I don’t really have a lot of free time because I only have one day off a week. So I don’t get to hang out with my girlfriend or my friends as much as I use to. But it’s worth it because constantly asking for rides and taking public transportation sucks.

To further help me make some more money, when I have time I do contracting work with my uncle and landscaping with my cousin. While doing all this I started thinking about what car I wanted to get. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get a clunker for a stack or if I wanted to get something nicer and make payments. After thinking about it I decided that if I am going to be working my butt off I might as well get a nice car. I mean it makes sense. Why would anyone want to work so hard and not drive around a car they love?

The thought of that new car is what gets me through every shift I work and through every day. I know it’s not going to happen over night (which would be nice though). But as the saying goes “Good things come to those that wait”.
