Junior Nick Levecchia, also known as the up and coming Soundcloud rapper; Rinickulous plans on releasing his first album, “3 AM, I’m Still Awake” on April 19th. Throughout the album Nick addresses many relatable topics, “I wrote about stuff almost everyone has dealt with; heartbreak, depression and addiction. There’s a song on it for anyone”.

From the beginning, Nick’s always had a fixation with the rap sound. “My parents always played rap, I was around it from a young age,”. He cites “Through the Wire” off Kanye’s first album, “The College Dropout”, as the first rap song he ever heard, “that song started it all”.

Apart from Kanye, recently Nick’s been listening to a wide array of both well-established and new rappers. “Travis Scott, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight specifically, this guy Zillakami on Soundcloud is gonna blow up real soon, and also JuiceWRLD is coming out with some great stuff.”

When it comes to making his own music, the process is always different. The majority of the time, the beat comes first. “…Usually my producer, OGesus, will send me a beat and I’ll hear the melody and go from that,”. Other times however, the lyrics come first, “I’m always casually writing lyrics though. Sometimes I’ll just be in class and come up with something dope and use it”.

The album takes a darker turn for artist which he says is heavily inspired by Kanye West’s “808’s and Heartbreak”. “I’ve always listened to Kanye but recently, I’ve been listening to 808’s more than anything else”. Other influences on “3 AM” include Kid Cudi’s “Man on the Moon” and Outkast’s “The Love Below” stating, “Andre changed everything with that album”.

With April 19th rapidly approaching, “3 AM, I’m Still Awake” shouldn’t be missed.
