Philly Auto Show: finding your dream car

The excitement is in the air. Or is it just that “new car” smell?

The thrill of being able to see some of the most expensive exotic cars in the world, and the ability to sit in your dream car or truck brings hundreds of people to the Philadelphia Auto Show, which was held from February 9-16 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center..

Featured car brands include Audi, Bentley, BMW, Cadillac, Dodge, Ferrari, Honda, Jeep, Lamborghini, Lexus, Maserati, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Subaru, Toyota, Volvo, and many others.

People from all around the world come to Philly to see the car show, including Hammonton High School students.

“I got to go this year to the show. My favorite part was the Monster Energy Dub Tour,” said sophomore Austin Buehler. “It is a great experience because your able to sit in your dream car. You are also able to see exotic and historic cars too.”

For junior Adam Montemurro and senior Mike Lindsay, the Models were the highlight of the event.

“I loved the Models on display,” Montemurro said. “My dream car would be a Rolls- Royce. I would tell anybody to go [to the show], because it is a lot of fun, and there are a lot of activities to do.”

Linday explained, “I enjoyed the older cars like the Models. My dream car would be a 32′ Ford. I would tell any car lover to attend, because it would be worth your while.”

Senior Mike Scarpato enjoyed the Dub Tour and said he aspires to one day own a Nissan GTR and a ’95 Cummings.

Car lovers who didn’t get to attend this year regretted missing the event, such as sophomore Greg Zaino.

“I didn’t get to go this year, but I have been there before. My dream car is an 88′ Mustang GT,” said Zaino. “I would recommend anyone going to the Philly car show, because it’s a good experience.”
