The blood shot eyes of the addicted stared and tapped for hours, and as for those who didn’t believe, they downloaded it, and also became addicted.

The tapping of the screen captivated many, as the little flappy bird flew threw the pipelines. But to many, this new game became a quick and painful addiction.

The extremely popular yet short-lived game, “Flappy Bird” became an overnight sensation.

So what is the big deal with this new game? why is it already off the market?  What is the strange phenomena holding players to this game.

The game called “Flappy Bird” has created a tapping frenzy throughout the halls of Hammonton High School.

“Flappy Bird” is is a mobile game notorious for its difficult levels. This app is a side-scrolling game which features 2D retro style graphics.

The objective of the game is to direct the flying bird through pipelines, and to get the highest score possible.

Senior Mike Fischer has admitted to having an addiction to the popular game.

“I actually do have Flappy Bird downloaded on my I-Phone. I do enjoy myself a good game of Flappy Bird every once in a while, even though it is indeed addictive,” he said. “My high score in the game is 26.”

Freshmen Jake Morrison told us that he dose not have “Flappy Bird” on his phone.

“I don’t own Flappy Bird on my I-Phone, but I have played it before once or twice. said Jake. I don’t know why people think it is so addictive. If I thought it was addictive, I would of downloaded it and kept it. My high score was 9 when I played.”

Junior Jessie Brewer believes that “Flappy bird” is addictive as well.

“I do own Flappy Bird on my phone. I enjoy the app every time I play. It is really addictive though. said Jessie. My high score is 84. It’s crazy.

Freshmen Billy Monzo has “Flappy Bird” and enjoys it.

“I do own Flappy Bird on my I-Phone. I only play it sometimes though. I think it is a really addictive game. said Billy. My high score is 40. Overall, I think the game is Dope.”

Freshman Nick Filer is another student with an addiction to “Flappy Bird.”

“I have Flappy Bird on my phone. I am addicted to it, but I really don’t enjoy it. said Filer. My high score is 128, but I did it with a Jailbreak.”

As you can tell, “Flappy Bird” is an enjoyable but addictive game that uses skill and determination to obtain a higher score.

Much to the dismay of fans, the creator recently taken the game off the market.

According to Forbes.com, creator Dong Nguyen has decided to take the game off the App Store via Tweet.

“I am sorry Flappy Bird users, 22 hours from now, I will take Flappy Bird down. I cannot take this anymore,” his Tweet stated. “It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore. I also don’t sell Flappy Bird, please don’t ask.”

The site continued by saying that Nguyen has been the target of a lot of internet hate for creating this game.

Some say that the app advertising revenue has brought in $50,000 a day. But is this the reason being for the sudden departure of “Flappy Bird”?

The world may never know.
