Homecoming: What’s In Style
HHS students have made it pretty apparent that the days of poofy beaded dresses are out. Since the 90s, we started seeing patterns out of this world.
Several students, including sophomore Harley Reynolds, sophomore Megan Kuzdrall, and junior Jaleena Santiago all agreed on what dress style they think is trending this year. Out of the seven girls randomly polled, 71% interviewed said BodyCon is their favorite. BodyCon can best be described as a non-flowy, slim fit dress.
“Bodycon is definitely the most popular style the past few seasons,” said Santiago.
Glitter, sequins and satin also define the Homecoming look – those 90’s heavily beaded looks aren’t as common on the racks.
Shopping for a dress can be daunting, with so many to look through. Stores like Macy’s, Windsor, and JC Penny offer selection, and of course, small boutiques throughout South Jersey and online shopping provide options as well.
Junior Virginia Echevarria and sophomore Destiny King both agree that Macy’s is a good place to go because “it’s local with fair prices.”
“I saw lots of girls from last year having a lot of the same dresses from Windsor,” added sophomore Merlin Cruez.
For Arabella Mesumeci and Kuzdrall, JC Penny is their go-to.
“I like that they have cute styles and they are affordable,” Kuzdrall said.
