24-25 FRESHMAN CLASS ELECTION
Please list your qualifications for this position. What sort of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
I have many qualifications for this position. I have done many service hours helping out within Hammonton. I completed my service hours at the Toy Market, Fall Carnival, School Events, and at my local Church. I am very active in my community which helps me with being president. Also, I have been in Hammonton Schools for many years. I am friends with my peers and can express their wants and needs. I am also a multi sport athlete and understand the different needs of many groups.
Why do you want to run for this position? Why do you wish to be a Class Officer?
I want to run for this position because I want to make a difference in our school district. I want to be able to speak up for my fellow classmates and make a true impact at HHS. I am also excited to set up for events and decorate the school. I can host paint parties and do many things for my class. I have many creative ideas I believe would make a difference for the class of 2028. I wish to be a Class Officer to guide my class through high school with their physical and mental battles.
Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
1. I believe funding is a slight issue at HHS. Many different clubs and sports need some supplies that aren’t given. To resolve this issue, I would host fundraisers to support our school with money. We could do a bake sale, school car wash, or the “”Vertical Raise””(this is a website used by our sports programs to earn money for the season). Whether we need more lacrosse sticks, or more beakers for science clubs, I will be able to help.
2. There are some students who are coming into HHS from a different area and need help making friends. To help those in need find a group, we should host a meeting to introduce all sports and clubs for students. Also, we can give each underclassman an upperclassman to help guide them. We can call this a buddy system. This is needed because many freshmen don’t have an older student to look up to.
3. Many students have problems concentrating with many difficult classes throughout the day. We should introduce a free period into the school day. This way, students can unwind for half an hour and prepare for their next class. During this period, students can go sit outside on the bleachers, or sit in spare rooms, listening to music and relaxing. With this being added, students will be more concentrated in class. Behavioral problems with kids in class will change because they had a period before to relax and think about other topics.
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
As Class President, I would like to guide the Class of 2028 in the right direction. Firstly, I would be sure that everyone would be heard and their ideas would be projected. No matter how loud or quiet one is, all their ideas are important and need to be expressed. I would add more clubs and activities to do after school for those in need. I will change any problems that we find along the way to the best of my ability. Also, I want to decorate for the dances as much as possible. These are very fun events for our school, so I want them to be special.
Why would you be the best candidate for the desired position?
As your future Class President, I want the entire Class of 2028 to be heard completely. Every person who has a concern will be heard. No matter if you have been at this school for 5 years or moved here this week, your voices will be heard. I want to be the best I possibly can to better the name of HHS. I am very committed to creating a community within our grade. I want all 4 years of our high school life to be memorable and enjoyable. If anyone has questions, I am very approachable, and I am constantly looking out for the needs of our school. If the soccer team is low on jerseys, I will run a fundraiser to support them. If students are having issues with class, I will create a free period for them to relax. If freshmen are struggling with elderly support, I will create a buddy system. Any small issue that you are dealing with, come to me. I am responsible and have good time-management, so I can deal with any troubles. I will try to resolve it to the best of my ability. But other then speaking out about your problems, I will listen to them. Also, for dances and events, I will try my best to make them creative and memorable for a lifetime. Overall, Amanda Childs will help the Class of 2028 have a bigger, and brighter future.

Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
- Bullying: Lots of kids get hurt mentally and physically, we should have stricter rules and supervision on bullies.
- Academics: Students should have opportunities to get help after school, programs to help students with homework or studying should be heavily influenced and advertised.
- Funding: I would like to have more events around town to raise money for upcoming events like Homecoming or Pep Rallies.
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
I would like to make the school a better place in total, and make it more enjoyable and stress-free for all students.
Why would you be the best candidate for the desired position?
I believe that I am the best candidate for the Freshman President. I can help fix all of the schools biggest problems which include; bullying, academics, and funding. I will help fix these problems by increasing supervision in the halls, advertising after school programs for academic help, and fundraisers to raise money to fund important school events to make the school an overall better place!
Please list your qualifications for this position. What sort of experience have you had that would help you with this position?

- I have led and organized many successful projects and have lots of experience in roles of leadership.
- I was chosen to represent HMS for a meeting with one kid from each middle school in our county, the 8th Grade Atlantic County School Board Dialogue .
- I am very involved in Hammonton Schools and almost always with leadership positions. Last year I was so involved at HMS that the Principal, Vice Principal, and many other important staff members know me by my nickname.
- Some things I was heavily involved in last year was:
- Daily morning announcements
- Organizing the dances
- Leading the promotion and organization of charity events and fundraisers
- I also won the Best Kind Of Devil award because I am involved in so much and am Respectful Responsible and Kind as the HMS slogan says we have to be.
Why do you want to run for this position? Why do you wish to be a Class Officer?
I want to be Class President because I want to help make everyone have the best time possible at HHS! I also have proven to have great leadership skills and want to use those to contribute as many good things as I can to HHS!
Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
1. I think HHS likely faces issues concerning money as most schools do. I haven’t seen the school’s account balance but I’m sure it would help to have more money. So I believe that HHS should have more fundraisers. One good idea specifically that many schools do is a cookie dough fund raiser! They can bring in 55% profits and are lots of fun!
2. Trouble-making and disrespectful students tend to cause issues at HHS. I believe that if these students were happier then less trouble would occur. We can’t influence everything in their lives, but it would likely have some very positive effects if HHS had more fun activities to boost students school spirit and happiness! They can even be little things, but they will still make people more happy and less likely to cause and get into trouble. They just have to be activities that everyone does (not an after school activity or event) that get students to want to participate. Could be as simple as little fun games in homeroom or something to get students to start off the day in a better mood and cheer them up. They just have to be things that people will want to participate in and are fun!
3. Not enough student involvement at HHS is another issue. Many students aren’t involved and it leads to their HS experience being not as enjoyable! If they have a better time in HS they’ll be more likely to choose better paths in their future. So we should plan out ways to get more people involved.
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
As a Class Officer I want to help everyone have the best experience possible! And there are many ways to do that which the role of Class President would allow me to more easily do!
Why would you be the best candidate for the desired position?
Hello Freshmen of HHS! It’s me, Ace Enders! Voting time is almost here and I’m running for class president. I am running for president because I want to make sure that you have the most epic high school experience possible!
If ya’ll vote for me as your president I’ll be the one who leads planning on several cool events here at HHS, I’ll be representing you, and I’ll be doing so much more to lead us to a successful school year!
Many of you know me as the kid with the food shirts, or the old HMS morning announcer. I have represented all of you who went to HMS and you have been happy with it this far. I have a lot of experience with leading people, and I’m skilled when it comes to planning stuff like school events. If you didn’t go to HMS last year you might not know me, but I will work my hardest to give you the best HS experience possible if you vote for me as Class President.
So I have a lot of leadership experience, I’ve absolutely loved leading you so far, and I will work hard to lead ya’ll to a school year of greatness if you vote for me as Class President. And as many of my fellow HMS graduates have heard me say many times on the morning announcements: be respectful, responsible, and kind, and you can be the best kind of devil! Have an epic day HHS!
Please list your qualifications for this position. What sort of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
- I have many hours of community service, including park cleanups and helping out at a spanish parents convention.
- During Christmas, I have helped unfortunate children and picked and gave gifts to them.
- I have played multiple sports throughout my life, so I am very used to working as a team and strategizing to find solutions.
Why do you want to run for this position? Why do you wish to be a Class Officer?
I believe it can force me to be more hands on and getting involved in my school. The principals and staff really urged for students to try out for new things, so that’s what I decided to do. Also, I believe it can help a prepare me for the National Honor Society, which is something else I would like to join.
Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
One concern I believe students face is not feeling represented or doesn’t have interest in after school activities. I think this should be addressed by giving a poll to the students and see what they say. If they are ok with the options, or there should be more, and if so what. Another challenge is sports and options not being great for some students. We can solve this using the same method. I believe another challenge is students struggling and not having time for tutoring. I believe this can be solved by offering tutoring during lunch or study periods, so students can have more time options for tutoring.
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
I would like to definitely accomplish the polls and I would like to have successful dances. I would also like to bring up the tutoring idea to the whole board.
Why would you be the best candidate for the desired position?
As your vice president, we can all plain and simply have a smooth sailing year.
Please list your qualifications for this position. What sort of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
My qualifications for being vice president include being able to communicate with my peers, knowing a lot of people in the freshman class, being a leader, and helping others. I have experience being on a team environment for most of my life so I know how to work well and get along with others easily.
Why do you want to run for this position? Why do you wish to be a Class Officer?
I want to run for this position to better my classes’ Freshman year and maybe in future years. My peers, as seniors, should be looking back on there 9th grade year and be flooded with great memories. I wish to be a Class Officer because I want to make this year a great experience for me and my class.
Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
One concern I have for the school are its funds. We could do fundraisers like bake sales and raise more money for our school. This money could go to whatever the class is missing. For example, if we need more funds for prizes for ticket drawings it could go to that. Other examples, are if the band needs new uniforms, the lacrosse team needs more equipment, etc.
Another concern I have for my class is the disconnection. I feel like everyone is divided and we need a bit of unity with each other. To solve this, there could be days where our whole class is split into teams. Then we work together with new people on certain activities/games. This could give us time to connect with each other and even make new friends. It could help us be more comfortable with each other. It may even be a mental break from school work for some students. This could be once a year, every other month, or even every month.
The last concern I think the school faces is the unwelcomness high school brings to some freshmen. I think that once freshmen get involved in clubs and activities they will meet some more upperclassmen and feel less scared. Therefore, there should be just about a club for everyone. I think that students should be open to making suggestions about what new clubs or activities there should be. For example, if some people in the school love to sew they could create a club and meet others who are interested in that as well. This way students can meet people who are similar to them in all different grade levels.
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
As a Class Officer this school year I would like to accomplish creating some fun activities for our class. This way we can all become closer while having fun. I would also make sure everyone is enjoying themselves, there opinions are recognized, and in general making there time at HHS one to remember.
Why would you be the best candidate for the desired position?
I’m Lucia Donio and I’m running for Class Vice President because I will make this year one to remember out of your time here at HHS. I would be the best candidate for the position since I will turn our class into a comfortable and unified space, I will make sure voices of everyone are heard as well as understood, and I will organize enjoyable events for all freshmen students. I’m easy to get along with and work with and can communicate well. I also love to help out the school and people in any way I can. I’m really excited to be a Class Vice President and to be a part of this great community. I hope we can mold all of our creative ideas together and make this the best freshmen year yet. So vote for me for a great year filled with fun, laughter, and most importantly life lasting memories. Thank you!
Please list your qualifications for this position. What sort of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
I have been in student government in middle school, I have also played softball since I was 4. I am now on a travel team, this experience has not only taught me how to improve my skills as a player, but also how to lead on and off the field, how to be a team player, how to win humbly, but more importantly how lose with pride and to use that as a learning experience how to work on myself and to work with my team to work harder to improve.
Why do you want to run for this position? Why do you wish to be a Class Officer?
I would like to run for Vice President because I love our town and school and I am proud the community we live in. I think we have a great class from both Hamonton and Waterford with great drive and ideas, I would like to help facilitate and push these ideas through. I believe that the class of 2028 will be one of the best!
Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
I am very interested in joining NHS junior-senior year, I understand that other schools have NJHS and we don’t, I like to understand why we don’t and help change that
We have a huge problem that I have already noticed in the days since I have been here with vaping or smoking, I think we need to spend time really not only encouraging students to not do this, but I think the school needs to enforce it more strongly
Our school is deeply rich in sports history, I think it’s great and have already began attending other sports to cheer them on. I have noticed that some teams have great support from booster clubs to help fundraise and make the student athletes experience even better, the sport I play for (Softball) does not have this. I would like to work with parents and community members to introduce this for that team.
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
I would like to create a class attitude that everyone is important, not who you hang out with, what sport you play, or what club you’re in, I would like to treat our class as a small community where every student feels safe, accepted and happy while they are in the school. Proud to be part of class of 2028.
Why would you be the best candidate for the desired position?
I feel I am a good candidate because I have the drive to truly help our class and work on our next four years here at Hammonton high school. I want to work hard to be sure that we set our goals high and then achieve them, leaving behind a legacy when we graduate in 2028. We are lucky enough to live in a small, safe town, we should not take that for granted, but instead push ourselves to build a great class , that volunteers for those less fortunate, instills the value of community and friendship within each other and to make sure we all pick each other up if someone is down and then celebrate each other. 4 years goes fast, then we will take these experience with us in our future and use them to continue on great paths.
Please list your qualifications for this position. What sort of experience have you had that would help you with this position
I have definitely had leadership experience that would help me with this position. Specifically, in 2017, when I was just around seven, I joined a martial arts academy with a leadership program. I officially joined the LIT (Leaders in Training) program when I was around eleven and stuck with it ever since.
The LIT program offers older students the opportunity to help martial arts instructors operate classes for younger students while also learning qualities that make someone a leader– confidence, integrity, honesty, and plenty of others. Once I got used to maintaining these traits, I used what I learned in the LIT program outside of martial arts. Last year, I can confidently say many younger students in middle school looked up to me, and teachers knew what I was capable of!
Why do you want to run for this position? Why do you wish to be a Class Officer?
I want to run for this position as Vice President for two main reasons. First of all, I want to do something that gets me out of my comfort zone and pushes me to be my best. I want to be involved in our school activities– I can’t stay hiding in a shell forever. I’m going to prove to myself that I can do something to help our school because I know I can. I know I can make changes for the better. Second, I want to prove to others that anyone can do anything they put their minds to. People shouldn’t think that just because they have trouble fitting in or someone is more popular than them doesn’t mean they aren’t capable of being the reason change happens. I desire to be the inspiration for those who do and don’t fit in alike. I want to explore, create, discover, and inspire, always and forever.
Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
1. Crowded Hallways: Students can often be late to class because of crowded hallways from people trying to get up and down the stairs or by people being unable to walk past the crowd outside the lunch room doors. To address this issue, stairways should have the left sides of them dedicated to people who wish to go upstairs and right sides of them dedicated to people who wish to go down so that confusion can be erased.
2. Accommodations: A student may be underperforming in classes because they have home situations and they are too afraid to tell their teachers what is happening. Students should never be scared to open themselves up to their peers, especially trusted guardians. To make up for this, teachers should be willing to hear and respect a student’s issues. Respect is a huge key word here– teachers should not make a pass for every time someone has an issue at home, rather, they should encourage help from professionals and guidance and offer assignment extensions in extreme cases. Teachers should be encouraged to check up on their students from time to time as well.
3. Unfair Treatment: Many people within any sort of school struggle to fit in– they may even get made fun of. There is never an easy solution to resolve bullying, but one thing that the middle school did to handle this problem was establish a club dedicated to being kind. A club like this would be greatly beneficial to the high school; students could go around doing nice things for teachers like bringing coffee or gift cards, and they could also go around doing nice things for other students like bringing treats and candy into class to pass out or try to become friends with people who aren’t in the club as well!
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
As a class officer this school year, I would like to make sure that the class of 2028 has a memorable freshman year by being able to come up with ideas for homecoming, HOP, and other events freshmen may attend. I want to create a year that any person could and will enjoy, and I want to make sure every student has somewhere they belong. I would also like to address and fix an issue listed in the previous question.
Why would you be the best candidate for the desired position?
Inspire. It’s a short phrase that everyone knows, but as your Vice President, it’s what I aim to do. Explore, create, discover, and inspire. It’s what everyone should aspire to be.
My name is Deborah Lee, and I’m running for the role of Vice President for the Class of 2028. I have experience and intelligence that can prove to anyone that I am qualified for this position. Over the last few years, I’ve had the opportunity to test my leadership at multiple different out-of-school locations. Last year, six other people and I went to the Carriage House in Galloway to recognize our promising capabilities; at my middle school graduation, I was recognized four times for four different awards.
As your Vice President, I promise to carry out justice and defend what is right, because that’s what a leader should always do. Whether someone has been accused of something they haven’t done, whether someone is being bullied and someone else needs to stand up for them, they never deserve to go through problems alone. Moreover, I promise to keep our school running efficiently and constantly find issues to improve with other students’ suggestions in mind. I promise to make sure everyone has somewhere they belong, and I promise to create a memorable freshman year filled with enjoyable events by communicating with rest of the freshman officers and our community.
We can make this year the best it can possibly be together. We are never going back.
Please list your qualifications for this position. What sort of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
I have gone to Hammonton schools for six years now, so I have gotten to know countless people amongst the student body. I have formed friendships and bonds that will lead me to be a trustworthy member of the freshman class office. I have also been on Hammonton sports teams and in many clubs which have made me closer to my peers. In middle school I was in student council, which helped me gain leadership and communication skills that would be valuable to this position.
Why do you want to run for this position? Why do you wish to be a Class Officer?
I wish to run for freshman class secretary so I can become closer with the students beside me throughout high school. This position will help me build relationships with not only students, but teachers too. I believe that by electing me as class secretary I will help my fellow students achieve the freshman year they want, and have been looking forward to. With my enthusiasm for this position, I think that the outcome of our freshman year will be guaranteed.
Class Officers are the representatives of your class.
Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
Firstly, one of the greatest concerns I notice amongst my peers is a lack of people who want to join sports and clubs. While there is such a wide variety of clubs and sports at Hammonton High school, I still notice the lack of involvement over my freshman class. I hope that I can find a way, and encourage more students to partake in these activities, because it gets you involved in your community, and even gains you friendships.
Secondly, I notice a large amount of students who choose to walk rather than play the activities in gym class. While there is nothing wrong for wanting to simply walk in gym rather than play a sport, I think we as a student body need to encourage people to join in. I believe a ton of students in gym class don’t involve themselves in the activities because they feel unwelcomed. I think as coaches, and students we need to be more encouraging and welcoming. Playing sports in gym opposed to walking helps with your fitness levels, but also helps you to get to know the other students around you.
Lastly, I see many students sitting alone, or uncomfortably at a table in the lunch room almost every day. I think we need to promote more positive, welcoming, friendly behavior by welcoming students who look lonely and out of place to your lunch tables. We can put up posters reminding people of acts of kindness, which might help people feel less lonely while eating lunch. No one should feel uncomfortable when trying to eat lunch. By promoting these acts of kindness, we can stop this.
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
Throughout my freshman year as class secretary, I hope to bring together our class through activities that welcome all. Things like field days, dances, sports, and clubs are what I hope to make better so that all students feel like they are apart of the class of 2028, and aren’t being left out. Helping run these things, I can ensure no one will be left behind, or feel unwelcomed.
Why would you be the best candidate for the desired position?
I’m Ava Johnson, and this year I am running for the freshman class secretary. I believe I can make our year as freshman stand out from the rest through organized activities, and dances that you won’t forget. You only live your freshman year one, and I hope I can make it everything you’ve hoped for. I am the right selection for this position because I aspire to make everyone feel included and give them a freshman year they’ll never forget.
I’m everything you could want in a class secretary; I’m dependable and welcoming. I am thrilled and honored to carry out your wishes as class secretary. With my enthusiasm, and great communication and leadership skills, together you and I will make an impactful year. Four years seems like a long time, but in reality it will fly by. Let’s make these four years together legendary! Vote for me – thank you!
Please list your qualifications for this position. What sort of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
I believe I have many qualifications that would help me receive this position. To start, I have always been a Type A student. The type of student that wants to help a teacher, staff member, and/or my own peers no matter the circumstance. Helping others feel good about themselves makes me feel good. Ever since I was a little girl I have always found a solution or compromise to everything. There may have been difficult decisions but along the way it built the character I am today. In all of elementary and middle school I have always qualified for honor roll, from my drive of my education. Since I hope to go into the medical field. In the sixth grade I was chosen by all of the teachers to be an all around student. I was extremely honored that others saw how hard I work to be the person I am. As well, in sixth grade I was a part of their safety control program. I directed kids to their buses, classrooms, and around the school. Also in the safety program I was one of the few chosen students to go into a small classroom to help them socially and physically. These are just a few of the experiences I have had that I believe would help me receive this position as secretary.
Why do you want to run for this position? Why do you wish to be a Class Officer?
I decided to run for class secretary to help the freshman class feel seen. If I were to get class secretary I would help the class feel organized and less stressed by events. I would also take my classmates’ ideas into consideration to help all of us succeed and have fun in our high school careers. I also want to run for this position to be involved in the community. Being involved is such an important thing most people don’t do. Starting to get involved now before starting college is a priority to me that would help me succeed in both high school and in college.
Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
- Trying to meet high expectations. Everyone in the school has high expectations for their grades and appearances in the high school. I would address this situation by letting everyone know that it is okay to not always be perfect, because it is not said enough. Some people don’t go to other after school activities because they are afraid of their grades dropping.
- Getting involved in extracurriculars. Students may feel not welcomed or comfortable too after school sports. This is how I would address this concern: it is important for the clubs and sports teams to be positively advertised at pep rallies, morning announcements, and posts.
- Passing periods. The hallways always tend to be crowded, some spots more than others but overall crowded. I would address this by clearly stating to the students pathways to take to help them not be in such big crowds. This will prevent students from getting to class late.
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
If I were elected as a class officer I would like to accomplish my three concerns about the school. My three concerns about the school include, trying to meet high expectations, getting involved in extracurriculars and passing periods. I would also like to accomplish any reasonable ideas my peers have.
Why would you be the best candidate for the desired position?
Hello, Freshman Class of 2028. My name is Riley Marshall, and I hope in a short amount of time I can stand as your freshman class secretary. I am not just running for myself and the title this opportunity would present to me. I am running for all of us. I believe that incorporating everyone into my ideas and thought process could make being a Blue Devil that much better. I hope to bring organization, creativity, and hard work to the table. I promise to always carry this responsibility with great pride. The choice is not mine; it’s yours to decide your freshman class office. But Remember that if you chose me you will never turn back and, you will remember your Freshman year here at Hammonton High School as the best year yet!
Please list your qualifications for this position. What sort of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
Experience and qualifications that would help me excel in becoming class Secretary include communication, organization, problem solving, and computer literacy skills, along with being initiative, and having a well-rounded education.
Communication skills could help me convey specific points while practicing public speaking. Having a place and a plan for everything in my everyday life is essential. I can face challenges and help come up with resolutions. I have a strong voice and opinion. I am currently taking all honors classes including challenging myself with double math classes. In 7th and 8th grade I ended with A averages in all enrichment classes.
Why do you want to run for this position? Why do you wish to be a Class Officer?
I wish to run for this position for my own personal development, earning leadership abilities, expanding my teamwork skills, practicing public speaking, and having extracurricular involvement. I want to become a person people can learn information from and be involved in my class.
Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
The first concern I have with Hammonton High school is student-teacher communication. Students feel that teachers may not understand how they are feeling. Teachers might feel disrespected even if that is not how a student intended to treat them. I want to change this. I want to allow students and teachers to express themselves in a way that others would understand. The second concern I have is the transition to high school and post secondary education. I try to help the transition from middle school to high school become smoother. Students who first enter high school feel intimidated and overwhelmed. Students who graduate high school and enter post secondary education might feel the same way. Students need better preparation for these extreme transitions. This could be addressed in multiple ways. 8th graders could be provided with greater opportunities to take high school level courses. There could be upperclassmen who get together with students entering high school to explain what each course they take will entail and tour the school with them. When entering post secondary school, there should be more opportunities to experience the major of their choice, bringing me to my third concern. I would like to see academic programming that provides students with direct hands-on work experience and knowledge that will allow them to begin working once the program is completed. An example of this is Atlantic County Technical Schools. They have courses that are specific to their students’ interests. I would like to see more courses that students can take during their duration in high school.
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
As a Class Officer this year, I would like to promote citizenship, scholarship, and human relations. I would like to accomplish involving more students in volunteer opportunities. I would also like to see improvement in the overall presence of our students.

Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
One of the concerns that I want to address is many students might feel disengaged or disconnected to the school community. There are always the same people in all the activities, I would like to see some fresh faces involved. I would encourage a suggestion box or survey to find more diverse interests. I would go to the students who seem more shy and get them involved with activities and clubs.
Another concern is the overall well-being of the students. I would like to create a wellness day. A day that we can relax, be stress free, and let our guards down. This can be an open conversation and people will feel more opt to getting involved in the overall school community.
Lastly, I would like to foster the idea that ‘everyone belongs’. There is a place for everyone. Whether it is a club, sport, or event, everyone feels safe and welcomed. This can be demonstrated in a variety of ways such as talent platforms or promoting positive interactions.

Why do you want to run for this position? Why do you wish to be a Class Officer?
I want to run for the position of class treasurer not only to be involved with the school, but also to have the Freshman class attend and enjoy events offered at HHS. I also want to help shape Hammonton High School’s financial strategy to augment its previous form. I want to be able to speak for the Freshman class’ interests, since freshman year is overlooked, yet crucial for high school and beyond.
Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
1. Mental Health: The transition from middle school to high school is challenging, putting a lot of pressure on freshmen. An increased workload, higher demand from teachers, and a new building doesn’t make it any easier. Creating and funding mental health programs will leave a lasting effect at HHS.
2. Decompression Station: Specifically, I strongly believe that a decompression station at HHS will benefit the Freshmen class and the entire student body, especially as the drastic transition from middle school to high school can be tumultuous for many. Using the budget to implement this in either the guidance offices or the media center can provide overwhelmed, distressed students with an outlook to relax and channel their emotions, creating a stronger, healthier school atmosphere.
3. School Spirit: By ensuring that our funds are handled well when I am elected, our funds will be distributed appropriately to prioritize hallway decorating during the Homecoming season in Early October, creating stronger high school spirit. This proves vital especially for Freshmen who may feel disconnected from the high school in part due to age and the feeling of being a small fish in an big pond. It is important because this can help strengthen our bonds as Freshmen, electing to stick together; a skill that proves essential coming from the COVID-19 Pandemic that led to many students feeling disconnected from their peers. My monetary handling skills will be present here as I look to improve our school spirit and to strengthen our relationships with our fellow peers, contributing to a safe, tightly-knitted school environment.
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
As a class officer, I want to focus on including the freshmen in activities. Although freshmen don’t have graduation or Disney to look forward to this year, there are still plenty of things to be involved, such as Homecoming and the Hop. In addition, I want to strengthen the mental health of the student body. High school can be fairly challenging with due dates and assessments. When someone is having a bad day, I want them to come to me for support. Budgeting for current and new additions would be difficult, but as your class treasurer, I can make that happen.

Why do you want to run for this position? Why do you wish to be a Class Officer?
I would like to run for this position because It means a lot to me to get involved in anything that comes up. I want every student in my class to have a say in what they think is going to help the school for events and volunteer work. I know that I would enjoy this a lot cause I am very creative and Love to work for the best. If I were picked I would make the class feel organized and always make sure that the freshman class is at the best it can be at. Something that is very important to me is kindness and I would want to know if I was picked cause I feel that it should be spread throughout the whole school.
Class Officers are the representatives of your class. Please list three concerns or challenges you think the school faces. How should each be addressed?
Three concerns that I think our school faces are stress levels for the students and when students stress they forget about their grades and assignments that they have. I think It is very important for students to know that taking breaks is ok but I think something that my class struggles with is stress and the way it impacts them. The second thing I think the school is challenged with is hallways always being so packed tight and not allowing students to get to class on time.
What would you like to accomplish as a Class Officer this school year?
This year I would like to accomplish changing the way the students feel about wanting to come to school and making everyone want to come and not have to be motivated to get out of bed in the morning. School should be a safe and welcoming place which our school is amazing at but just having motivation to come to school will help our HHS students a lot.
Why would you be the best candidate for the desired position?
I think that I would make an amazing treasurer because I love to help, change things from good to amazing, and I am extremely organized. I will make sure the freshman class feel seen and have a say in things such as themes, activities, and things that change around the school. When working to find ways to make posters or working to do things for events I will always make sure I make it fun and creative. I am a very kind, smiley, and happy person who loves to talk about things to make them better which I think that is something that will be good for my role because it will bring out new things to do or change for our school. I have always been very serious about my school work and what I wanna do after high school and that is why it is so important to me to run because starting young always will give you success when you are older. I know that success comes from hard work and that is what I am going to do to get this job. Thank you
