Class of 2027 Officer Candidates (for 24-25 School Year)
Please list your qualifications for this office. What kind of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
I am the current president for the Freshman class. I have experienced all expectations that this position holds. I have helped organize events such as homecoming hallway decorating and HOP decorating throughout the school year alongside my other very helpful class officers. I also have been the captain on my soccer team for the past 3 years and have learned many things through that position. I have come to understand the importance of speaking up, leading by example, and inclusion of everyone.
Why do you want to run for this position?
Being a class president has allowed me to build a greater connection with my peers. Building these connections has helped me develop better ideas and understandings of the unique personalities and preferences everyone has. I’ve enjoyed representing such a wide and special student body and hope to continue what we’ve built as a group.
Officers are leaders of the student body. Please state the biggest challenge you think that your class faces during this school year. How should this challenge be addressed?
1. School spirit and participation in events such as pep rallies has struggled recently. Next year, I hope to find better ways to get students who want to participate more involved with the spirit weeks and pep rallies.
2. So many students are also improperly informed with the many opportunities the school offers. As a team, the officers could work closely with the student council and other teachers to help spread the information on many unique opportunities offered that they may regret missing.
3. Students often hit low points throughout the school year. Finding ways to help students continue to look forward to going to school is one of the biggest keys to making the high school a better place. So, creating a bigger and better abundance of things that appeal to students of all different interests is very important.
What are some things you would like to accomplish as an officer this school year?
To represent the class of 2027 last year I thought we did amazing in the Homecoming hallway decorating. It was great to get so many other freshman students to come out and help us out. I would like to get everybody equal opportunities to be involved in events they would like to be in including the pep rallies. I would also like to be a reliable person for people to ask any questions to. I would like to reach out to as many students as possible to help the grade and the school be more inclusive than previous years. Also, to have the pleasure of working with the other great class officers once again to accomplish just as much as we did last year would be such a great privilege.
Explain why you would be the best candidate for this position.
There are so many things to take away from being a class president. Over the past year I’ve seen so many ups and downs within the school and have learned a lot from the position. But, getting the students to participate and have fun with one another has been such a great time. Next year, me and the other class officers could gather even more students to have even better events and even more fun that only life in high school provides. By getting the student body involved and learning more and more from students across the grade I hope to better the feeling for students to wake up everyday and go to school.
Please list your qualifications for this office. What kind of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
As the historian of the freshman class, I have been involved in helping to plan all class activities this year. I am organized and hardworking and make sure things get done on time. I helped plan and complete the homecoming hall decorations by hosting paint parties (22 hours). I helped plan and decorate and sold tickets for the Hop this year (8 hours). I participated in all Student Council activities this year including the Christmas giving trip (5 hours) and Trick or treat at the HS (3 hours). Additionally, I enjoy sports and helped as a volunteer coach for the Hammonton Stick Chicks field hockey in the fall and spring.
Why do you want to run for this position?
I want to run for president because I want to help lead the school in a positive way. I would like to include everyone in class decision making so that I can best represent my class. I also want to make school more fun and enjoyable for everyone. I am dedicated to our class and want to make sure that we continue to be the strong class that we are at pep rallies and school activities.
Officers are leaders of the student body. Please state the biggest challenge you think that your class faces during this school year. How should this challenge be addressed?
One concern that I think the school faces is not allowing everyone to have a say in decision making. For example, some people may not get to voice their opinion and the class may miss out on this valuable input. A way that this could be fixed is to have class officers go into classrooms and ask if anyone has any ideas of things they want to happen or ask the students to vote on certain topics. With this information, we can try to include more people’s ideas when making final decisions for the class. Another concern that the school faces is final exam stress. I would like to discuss this concern with the administration and guidance department and see if we could decrease the weight of final examinations in overall grades. A final concern is increasing the number of social events in the school. I would like to have more dances and trips available to more students so that everyone can have an enjoyable and memorable high school career.
What are some things you would like to accomplish as an officer this school year?
I would like to continue with our success in Homecoming activities and pep rallies. I look forward to helping plan the Hop. I would like to try to increase the number of social events like dances and trips to include more members of the class. I would like to help our advisor look into the possibility of a Sophomore Class Trip.
Explain why you would be the best candidate for this position.
I feel that I am the most qualified candidate for class President because I am a hardworking and dedicated leader. As a current class officer, I know the amount of time necessary to do a good job. Having previous experience, I can help our class continue to excel in class competitions like homecoming and pep rallies. I am involved in many activities and sports and feel that I would be able to include a large variety of people in helping make decisions regarding our class. I enjoy planning parties and events and want to make school a great experience for everyone in our class.
Please list your qualifications for this office. What kind of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
I am a very dedicated and hardworking person as I am in honor classes, while being a 3-sport athlete in which I have understood and learned the idea of commitment. I am also a part of the Student Council and the Future Nurse’s Club. I was also given the position as shift leader at my job, which I have been working there for over a year. With all these activities, I advocate leadership, which is something that is important to me. Leadership is something that I strive for others to express because it can be shown in so many different ways.
Why do you want to run for this position?
I want to run as Vice President for several reasons. I want to use my voice on behalf of the students to try and get more students to participate in school activities such as spirit weeks, pep rallies, hallway decorating, and clubs or sports. To have more students involved can make the high school a more enjoyable place to come and can allow more friendships to arise. I ran for Vice President last year and didn’t make it, so I want to try to run for this position to be even more involved than I was last year.
Officers are leaders of the student body. Please state the biggest challenge you think that your class faces during this school year. How should this challenge be addressed?
It is very important for students to understand and how to react to change. This can be a challenge for many because they can be so used to something, so that when it doesn’t go as planned, they have a difficult time accepting it. Acceptance can help people understand that with life comes change and life is still okay and can be great with change. Change can bring some of the best opportunities of one’s life. Another concern is student activity, meaning that not enough people are getting involved. For students to experience their high school years to the fullest potential, they need to start participating in activities, so that they can remember it in the future. Lastly, making all the students feel welcomed is a main concern. Some students are afraid to ask for help or feel that they are being made fun of when involving themselves in certain activities. With leadership and kindness from class officers and students in the school, this can be addressed because people will feel comfortable to talk to their officers and participate in front of others.
What are some things you would like to accomplish as an officer this school year?
I would like to accomplish hallway decorating for the dances. Not only that, but the voices of all the students to be heard and not just the class officers. With that, it will allow for more involvement to happen. I also would like to incorporate at least one school trip to somewhere nearby each year.
Explain why you would be the best candidate for this position.
To the Sophomore Class of 2024-2025, I motivate you to vote for me as Vice President. With this upcoming year, I hope to accomplish many enjoyable activities such as spirit weeks, pep rallies, hallway decorating, and sports games. I would like for more students to be involved with student activities, so that the high school can feel like a better environment. More people will enjoy coming to school and along with participating in activities, new friendships can happen. I am in honor classes, while being a 3-sport athlete in which I have understood and learned the idea of commitment. I am also a part of the Student Council and the Future Nurse’s Club. I was given the position as shift leader at my job, which I have been working there for over a year now. As someone with dedication, leadership, and kindness, I hope that you vote for me as your Sophomore Class Vice President!

Why do you want to run for this position?
I want to run for this position because I truly care about the experience and environment at Hammonton High. I feel that everyone just goes to school anymore because they have to. Mostly everyone I talk to complains about school and wishes they can go home before first period even starts. I understand that school is something most people do not want to do and especially find the slightest enjoyable, but there has to be a way to make high school fun. I want to make Hammonton a lively place, where people can be themselves and enjoy school. I do not want people to go to school hating every aspect of it. I want to change that and attempt to make school as fun as possible. Sure there are going to be days that suck, but not every day should feel like a burden. Most people are nervous and scared to run for an officer position, but I am not scared and I want to be one of the voices for my class. I am open to many different ideas and want to hear what people want different about this school to make it a memorable experience, while still learning. Being named sophomore class Vice President would be cool, and having the title on my college resume would be even cooler, but the best part about being class Vice President would be knowing that I am contributing and helping make HHS as great as it can be. Change is good and it may be the missing thing to make this high school great. If I win, I promise to try my hardest to be the best Vice President anyone could ask for, listen and speak on behalf of the people, implement what is wanted by the people, and be there for the class of 2027!!
Officers are leaders of the student body. Please state the biggest challenge you think that your class faces during this school year. How should this challenge be addressed?
- Lack of school spirit and participation in school / school events: In order to fix this issue, I would implement rewards for students who try their hardest in school and participate in school-related events. This could be a field trip, 30 min break from class pass, and/or cool rewards such as candy and tech. Also, I would consider making spirit days as competitions so each grade level will have one winner for the best person to participate in the school spirit. The prizes for this would be smaller prizes such as candy and tech (similar to PBSI ticket rewards). Ultimately, I think that implementing rewards for students who participate and show effort in school will help other students to do good and perform better as well.
- Technology usage: In order to fix this issue, I would try to find new techniques to engage students in class. Most students sit on their phone during class and do not pay attention. Possibly finding ways to make class more fun will drive students to want to focus in school and stay off their phones. Additionally, I would like to have certain days dedicated to tech-free days. This means that students would learn the traditional way with textbooks and paper. The Chromebook may be easier, but I think it is important for students to take from the computers.
What are some things you would like to accomplish as an officer this school year?
If I become Vice President, there are numerous things that I would like to accomplish this school year. For one, I would want to make the school a more appealing and fun atmosphere for the students. I feel that I always hear students complaining about school and how they do not like it here. High school is meant to be a fun time for students before the chaos of adulthood begins. Making students have a pleasant experience at Hammonton High will not only make students enjoy and have a memorable high school experience, but it will also boost Hammonton’s reputation as being a great school. Secondly, I would like to help minimize technology usage in school. I feel that technology usage is a big issue in this school, and no, I am not suggesting taking away cell phones in school because that is every student’ s nightmare. However, I think that students are on either their phones or Chromebook long enough, and could use a break. Having tech break days, instead of students playing games or watching TikToks, will help students become successful. I feel that having students less on technology will better help students focus, participate, interact, and be involved with the school as well as peers. Moreover, I would like to make HHS a school known for kindness, respect, and leadership. I want students to be more involved in helping out around the school, volunteering, being kind to others, and putting a smile on someone’s face. High school can be a rough experience for many students, often experiencing unkind and unpleasant experiences made by other students. I know it is not possible to completely eliminate unkindness and the act of making fun of students, but to help and contribute to abolishing it will make Hammonton a friendly environment for students. Lastly, I want to do more in fundraising. Possibly implementing an annual bake sale or hosting fun school events to raise money would benefit the school. Especially, there should be more fundraising for sports teams to have better equipment and facilities for students to use. Ultimately, my end goal as Vice President would be to make Hammonton a better and enjoyable space for students to be successful and have a pleasant high school experience.
Explain why you would be the best candidate for this position.
Dear Class of 2027, I think that I am well suited to be your vice president. For one, I can always show up for events when needed and get things done. I believe that a class officer should be someone who can show up for everyone and put their best foot forward. Not being there shows that the person does not have time for it and is not dedicated. Being a class officer should mean more than the title or for college purposes. Truly being a member means to be an active member. Additionally, I try my hardest to lead and set an example for other people. Although I am not perfect and make many mistakes, I try to be kind to people and help people do their best. I also try to throw myself out of my comfort zone and be the voice for everyone. All I can say is that I will try my hardest as your Vice President. I will make sure to always show up and help better the school. I know high school and life can be hard, but I am up for the challenge of making school fun and have students be as successful as they can. With this, I hope that you consider voting for me. I only hope to better HHS and make high school a pleasant experience and environment for all.
Please list your qualifications for this office. What kind of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
I am the current class secretary and I have been involved in student council since fifth grade because I love helping out at school. Whether it is helping my classmates, working on decorating the hallways, setting up and decorating for school dances, or making posters for pep rallies, I always strive to do my best and help make our school a better place for students. I enjoy art, especially design and painting, and I will continue to use those skills in the numerous projects the student council is responsible for. I believe that brighter colors in the hallways make for a more happy, friendly and inviting environment and can make school a better place for everyone. Always striving to give 110% in everything that I do, I work hard in my classes and my extracurricular activities, which include cheerleading and softball. In order to do this, I have learned to prioritize my time, becoming a great time-manager. I enjoy writing and taking notes, always making sure that they are neat for someone else to read. Lastly, I love problem solving and enjoy finding creative solutions. I would use my skills to help fix problems around the school and would engage with our class to get different opinions on how we should fix the problem.
Why do you want to run for this position?
I would like to be re-elected to the position of class secretary because I believe that I have performed the job well throughout this school year and because I want to continue contributing to making our school better. I love helping out around our school and I feel that I am very approachable. I hope that my friendly personality invites my fellow classmates to talk to me about their ideas to make our school better or their solution to a perceived problem. I am very friendly and kind to everyone and I hope other people see me that way as well.
Officers are leaders of the student body. Please state the biggest challenge you think that your class faces during this school year. How should this challenge be addressed?
After attending Hammonton High School for one year, I believe that our school faces several challenges practically everyday. For one, some students have a hard time getting to class on time because of the short three minute breaks in between periods. This is often caused by slow movement in the hallways and the many students who loiter. This could be addressed by telling students to not loiter in the hallways and form two lines that are going in opposite directions to help students get to the classes faster. Another challenge is bullying. Peer pressure and bullying is a very significant challenge in numerous schools that impact students mental health and could potentially lead to depression if it is serious enough. Talking to teachers or administration about just witnessing bullying or receiving it can help change the lives of multiple students and can make their time in high school more enjoyable. If a student goes to school knowing that they are going to be bullied, it will not be solved until it is reported to an adult that can help. Lastly, I would say that a big challenge for students is remembering to charge their computers at night before they go to school. This leads to many loner chromebooks being handed out and chargers being borrowed from other classmates or teachers. Announcements towards the end of the school day reminding students to go home and plug in their chromebooks could be beneficial and will help students remember to charge their computers and not just their phones.
What are some things you would like to accomplish as an officer this school year?
I would like to make school more enjoyable and exciting for students so that they can look forward to going to school. The ways this could be accomplished is by listening to students ideas on spirit days and making bright posters to hang up in the hallway to lighten the moods of students if they aren’t having a good day. I believe that ever since Covid occurred, spirit weeks in school have not seemed as fun or many have not participated in dressing up. Listening to ideas and suggestions about spirit weeks can be beneficial and could persuade students to participate more. Any little thing such as giving a compliment to a student or making classes more enjoyable can help make school more enjoyable overall as well.
Explain why you would be the best candidate for this position.
Every individual candidate who is running for this position is highly qualified and is able to help their peers and other students and will listen to all of the ideas or concerns of students. However, I feel that I am also qualified for this position and would make an excellent Secretary in the class office. I will listen to any complaints from students and I will not choose to ignore them, but rather listen and do something about it. I will listen to the ideas and opinions of students and will take these into consideration and discuss them with other officers so that students feel that they have a voice in the school. I give my 110% in everything I do and will make every effort to make the high school a better place for all students. I will also attend all meetings and will participate to share my ideas and suggestions. I will pay attention in these meetings and will take note of important information to share with those who are not able to attend. I try my best to be kind to everyone in school and to make each and every student at the school feel welcome and safe.
Please list your qualifications for this office. What kind of experience have you had that would help you with this position?
I ran for treasurer in my freshman year of high school and was elected. I enjoyed all the activities, hard work, and dedication introduced to me as a freshman class officer. Being in the class office was a great experience and I balanced my time between school, the class office, other after-school clubs, and sports efficiently.
I liked participating in the Student Council at the high school this year. I have twenty-two hours dedicated to Homecoming hallway decorating 23’. I also participated in the Student Council Christmas giving trip as well. On the trip, each Student Council member was assigned someone to buy for. Then, we delivered our presents and played with the other students using their new gifts. Finally, in February the freshman and sophomore class officers were part of the planning and decorating for the Hop. This demonstrates I participate in the Student Council, and help with major events for the high school like Homecoming and the Hop. At Hammonton Middle School, I was a member of the Student Council and helped organize a few of its projects. As a member, I helped Teacher Appreciation sidewalk chalk messages, counted all the pennies for the Penny Wars (donated to the Hammonton Cancer Foundation), collected donations for the food drive, and volunteered at the St. Patrick’s Day dance. That provided me with good experience in project management, teamwork, leadership, and contributing to community service endeavors.
I also participated in the Leo Club this year, receiving thirteen hours of community service. This displays that I am willing to give my time to help others and the community.
I am a member of the FCA/Impact Club, which has hosted several events throughout the year like Dodge ball Night. I can contribute to helping organize and plan events at the school which is an attribute needed as a class officer.
I am good at saving money and using it appropriately. As treasurer, the responsibility is to budget money for events like Homecoming and the Hop which celebrates our school heritage and tradition. For Hop, class officers were tasked to sell and organize money for the Hop tickets. This is an example of my organization when using money. I have the skill set to complete the tasks set in front of me. I am very organized when it comes to cash and schoolwork. A class officer also has to take charge when things go south and I have the voice and experience to do so.
At eighth grade graduation, I received the PBSIS Award, which recognized good character and behavior. I am responsible, approachable, and kind. I maintain good grades and work hard to earn them.
Outside of school, I am an active member of my church youth group. We meet together every Saturday night for activities; some are fun, and some are service-related. For example, we have brought food and hot chocolate to Fire and EMS services during their recognition week and prepared care boxes for our church college students. We try to do random acts of kindness. One example is on Valentine’s Day when we brought boxes of chocolate to members of the church congregation. We sing during the holidays at the Medford Care Center and host a senior citizen banquet for our older members. All of this experience shows my desire to serve and be part of the greater good in the world.
Why do you want to run for this position?
I ran and was elected as a treasurer of the freshmen class last year. I enjoyed working with all the other officers and getting involved in the planning of different events that go on at the school. It is important to get involved with the student community and better understand the events, projects, and culture of the building. I believe serving as an officer provides the opportunity to get experience managing, leading, and giving back to the school community. I also want HHS to make smart financial decisions for this school year. Additionally, one of my role models is my friend Hannah Cutts, who was president of her class and just graduated from Seneca High School. She is a great example of a student leader, and I aspire to be like that.
Officers are leaders of the student body. Please state the biggest challenge you think that your class faces during this school year. How should this challenge be addressed?
The school could offer a “lunch and learn” during lunch periods. This is when students can meet with a teacher to have lunch and get extra help in their class. Club meetings could also take place at this time, so students aren’t looking for another ride home after school.
At HMS there was a Renaissance Trip to reward student behavior and accomplishments during my seventh-grade year. Eighth-grade year the trip was canceled and in sixth-grade due to Covid. I know the high school does PBSIS, but it might be a good incentive to host a trip for those who win drawings as well as the current prizes.
Other schools offer more chances for students to be recognized for the good they do in their academics; my friend Maddie attends South Hampton, and they have a school honor society to recognize academic achievements for underclassmen. HHS only has the National Honor Society for 11th and 12th graders. It would be great for students to get recognition before they enter their junior and senior years.
What are some things you would like to accomplish as an officer this school year?
As a class officer, I would like to work with classmates and other class officer members to make HHS a better place for the students so their high school careers can live up to their full potential. As the year begins, I want to improve my leadership skills to showcase my willingness to help my peers. Connecting with classmates and being a friendly face is crucial to having prominent leadership skills. I hope my classmates trust that I can help them have an extraordinary high school experience. It is also important that I maintain the requirements as a treasurer to organize funds and budgets and keep track of receipts.
Explain why you would be the best candidate for this position.
Class of 2027,
I am the best candidate for treasurer because I will put my time and effort into this position, making it one of my top priorities to ensure my classmates have a great sophomore year. I have several qualifications for this position, such as previous experience as a class officer, saving money and spending it appropriately, experience in the Student Council, and I am involved with my church youth group which has helped me develop skills such as teamwork, leadership, and contributing to the community. My desire to serve as a class officer sets me apart from the other candidates. I am responsible, approachable, and kind. I will be a friend to everyone who needs one. Don’t be afraid to reach out because you will be welcomed!
