This year, the NHS student body will be performing a Halloween play for the students of Wes Elementary. The play is designed to help kids make safe choices on Halloween.
The play will go over safety rules implemented for kids safety, such as traveling in groups and never eating already opened candy.
The theme this year will be Shriek. The first scheduled rehearsal will begin on October 24.
Senior Mathew Martino will the role of the Muffin Man.
“I read over the script, and it sounds good. It’s a lot of fun to be working with your friends on something you know will have a positive impact on others,” he said. “It’s important that kids stay safe on Halloween.”
Hopefully by creating a fun, entertaining play, it will hold kids attention and help them understand the importance of Halloween safety.
“The theme of the play this year is Shriek,´´said Julianna Ruhf, who is one of the students who helped write the play. “We finished writing it a few weeks ago, so it’s up to the members to learn and memorize their lines.”
The play is set for October 31. Until then, the students of NHS will be busy reviewing lines and rehearsing their said roles.
