1. Why were you inspired to go into education?
I started coaching as a junior coach when I was in high school, and that’s when I knew I loved teaching kids. At the time, no one in my family had ever gone to college, so I assumed I couldn’t afford college. I always continued to coach youth sports, and when I was 25, I ran into a former teacher of mine. She asked why I wasn’t teaching, and I explained the cost, etc.. Then, she took the time to help me register, take placement tests and apply for student loans so I could begin my career in education.

2. What is your least favorite part of teaching?
My least favorite thing about my job is testing.

3. What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love making connections with my students and seeing them successful in life.

4. What is your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is not being able to reach a student who is struggling academically or personally.

5. What is one thing about you that would surprise other people?
I used to be a mom blogger!

6. When you are not in school, what are some of your hobbies?
Golfing, going to the beach, crafting, finding the best Italian restaurants, watching my son play baseball and hockey, and watching my twins dance.

7. Finish this statement: One thing I have learned about working at HHS is…
the staff and students are truly family.
