Plot: It’s been four years since Laurie Strode ( played by Jamie Lee Curtis ) encountered the masked killer Micheal Myers. Myers hasn’t been seen since Halloween 2018. When a young man is accused of murdering the boy he was babysitting, he and Laurie share certain similarities, struggling to adapt to their life. But evil never dies, and Micheal Myers returns for a final showdown against Laurie Strode. Only one will make it out alive.

Personal Review: I really disliked this film. I would say that for the first hour and ten minutes Micheal Myers made no appearance. The writers included a new character named Cory Cunningham who becomes friends with Allyson Nelson, Laurie Strode’s granddaughter. The pair gradually developed a relationship that most Halloween fans did not enjoy. The kills were bland. The dialogue was rushed. The film dragged on for the first hour and a half. The characters were weak. If it wasn’t for Jamie Lee Curtis and Micheal Myers, I would have shut the film off after the first half hour. In the last ten minutes, Micheal Myers and Laurie Strode battle for the last time. The last ten minutes were exciting, but then it ended with a melodramatic conclusion that I myself was not a fan of. I do not recommend watching this film in theaters and was severely disappointed with the franchise’s conclusion.

Terrifier 2

Plot: Art The Clown is not dead. He is resurrected by an evil entity and returns to Miles County to harass and terrorize a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.

Personal Review: Terrifier 2, created by Damien Leone, is an exciting slasher film that was released on October sixth. If you have a weak stomach I highly recommend not watching this. It is famously known for its graphic kills and is a blood bath from start to finish. The kills in this film are absolutely brutal. It was hard to say whether or not they were realistic, but they were certainly disturbing. I was baffled by the amount of gore in this film. Most of this film consisted of scenes that are meant to make audiences highly uncomfortable. I wouldn’t say it was scary, but it was certainly brutal, and I think that’s what made it such a grossing hit in theaters. I say with full confidence that this film is the most bloody, and vexing film I’ve ever seen. The second half of the film is extremely intense and suspenseful and most of the deaths occur around the hour-and-a-half mark. My only complaint would be that it dragged on near the end and ended slightly unsatisfyingly. Make sure to stay tuned for the extra credit scene that hints at a Terrifier 3.

Mr. Harrigan’s Phone

Plot: A young boy named Craig befriends a wealthy billionaire John Harrigan. Craig gives him a mobile phone. However, when John passed away, Craig discovered that he could communicate with his old friend beyond the grave.

Personal Review: If you are here for good acting and an entertaining plot, you should watch Mr. Harrigan’s phone. I think the thing that I liked most about this film is that the plot was extremely intriguing. Was it the best? No. Was it interesting? Very. Pushing device addiction to a supernatural extreme was very fun to watch. I would say it was more creepy than scary. It could be a slow burn at times, but it finishes with a satisfying conclusion that I think most will enjoy. If you are a big fan of Stephen like myself, then add this to your Stephen King watchlist.
