He’s Back! Tom Brady Unretires from the NFL
Well, that didn’t take long. After only 40 days of retirement, Tom Brady announced his return to football via Twitter.
These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG pic.twitter.com/U0yhRKVKVm

Many are not surprised by this, as Brady has always shown an intense dedication to football, and many feel that he is even somewhat obsessed with it.
It had been Brady’s plan to play until he was 45 for some time, which he will now be able to do with his return to the field this year. He turns 45 on August 3rd, shortly before the start of the preseason.
Brady fans everywhere are happy to see him return not only because they want to see him play again, but because many were unhappy with how his “final season” ended with a loss in the NFC Divisional Round to the Rams. Brady was able to lead the Buccaneers to a near comeback win, but fell just short as the Rams were able to score a last-second field goal to win. Many felt that with Brady leaving after that loss, he was leaving unfinished business on the table, which he cited in his return tweet.
The Buccaneers are already the favorite to win the NFC Championship with Brady’s return, and Brady is already third in the odds to win MVP, only behind quarterbacks Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. The fact that at 45 he can still have such an effect on the game is incredible, and shows just how much of a winner he truly is.
The only questions that remain now are will Brady be able to finish up business and win his eighth Lombardi Trophy next season? And if so, will this truly be Brady’s last dance in the NFL?
We will just have to wait and see.
