After finishing with a .500 record in 2019, the Philadelphia Phillies look to make a push for the playoffs in the upcoming 2020 season. The Phillies have made many new acquisitions over the past offseason; including, former Manager of the Year and World Series Champion, Joe Girardi. Also, the Phillies signed former Mets Starter, Zack Wheeler and former Yankee Didi Gregorius.

Fans are worried about the struggles of the Phillies bullpen and durability possibly carrying into the upcoming 2020 season. The Phillies bullpen posted a 4.36 Earned Run Average, ranking 16th in Major League Baseball in 2019. The Bullpen also surrendered 102 home runs in 2019, the 8th most in baseball. However; the Phillies Bullpen did have a lengthy list of injured pitchers, 13 of the Phillies injured players were relief pitchers. Fans will have to wait and see what the upcoming season has in store.

Phillies 2018 First Round Draft pick; Alec Bohm, currently leads all of Major League Baseball Spring Training in hits and batting average. Bohm is currently the Phillies highest rated prospect, and is expected to begin the year in Double A, but could make an appearance on the Major League Roster later this season.

Overall, the Phillies have one of the top offenses in Major League Baseball and added some much needed pitching to their rotation this past offseason. The Phillies, and fans around the world believe that the acquisitions made this past offseason will be enough to make a deep playoff run.
