The Hammonton Blue Devil baseball program will host its 37th invitation this upcoming weekend with two other teams in attendance: Burlington Township and Overbrook High School.   The tournament will consist of a double elimination.

Here’s a breakdown of who to watch from each team:

Hammonton Blue Devils:  (1-2)

Hammonton (Key players):

  • GianCarlo Palmieri – Shortstop
  • Zach Guerrier- Right Fielder
  • Stephen Restuccio – Center Fielder
  • Ty Tome – Second Baseman

Preview: Hammonton came out with a tough matchup starting with the number 1 ranked team Gloucester Catholic. They could not get anything going with the bats losing their first matchup but bounced back winning against Cedar Creek. Hammonton is looking to use this tournament as energy going forward. Hammonton has a new head coach with Greg Silvesti in his first season.

Overbrook Rams (1-3)

Key players:

  • Joe McBride – 1st baseman
  • Jagger Pinto – Shortstop
  • Andrew Young – Center field
  • Skylar Gordon – Right field

Preview: The Rams are struggling right now but winning their last game might be a confidence booster. Overbrook lost 3 straight before their first win. Joe Mcbride being there captain is looking to take leadership role and help the team in the tournament.

Burlington Township Falcons (1-2)

  • Key players:
  • A.J. Stein – Second Base
  • Marcus White – Shortstop
  • Tj Capetti – Left Field
  • Wade Miller – Catcher

Preview: The Falcons looked strong in their first game but lost two straight after. Overbrook had a close game against Moorestown but couldn’t put the win out. Moorestown right now is trying to do whatever they can to just get a win right now and get over the hump. Moorestown has a young talented group with top sophmore Marcus white.
