Senior Peyton LeMunyon and Sean Ryker are set to attend the 2018 NoKaOi Senior Bowl held in Hawaii this July.

According to its website, NoKaOi Football is an organization whose sole purpose is to offer high school athletes and college coaches the opportunity to travel to some of the world’s most exciting destinations while at the same time participating in the game they love.

The management team of the NoKaOi Senior Bowl has a combined 32 years experience in the international sports and recruiting industry. They have traveled with thousands of athletes just like you to England, Belgium, France, Holland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Hawaii.

The Devils’ Advocate did a Q & A with these two players as they reflect on the sport and their goals at the upcoming event.

Peyton LeMunyon:

Q: What are your strengths as a player?

A: I think it’s just about being smart and studying game films beforehand to know what the offense is doing. Also I think I’m a pretty hard hitter and bring a lot of force to the game.

Q:What are your goals for when you get started your week for the Senior Bowl?

A: My goal is to get as many tackles as possible and just to have fun. You know it might be my last game playing football ever, so to me it’s just making the most out of the trip.

Q: What schools are interested in recruiting you?

A: Yes, a variety of D3 schools have been looking at me including Delaware Valley, Widner and William Patterson.

Q: How do you feel about getting invited to the NoKaOi Senior Bowl?

A: It feels good because I put in a lot of hard work during these couple of seasons and it’s just great to kind of see it pay off. To have someone notice you and to be playing with some of the best players in the country, its a real honor.

Q: What are you looking forward to when going to Hawaii?

A: Well I’ve never really been to somewhere like Hawaii. The last real vacation I went to was California which was awesome. I’m really just looking forward to the nice weather and the sceneries.

Sean Ryker

Q: What are your strengths as a player?

A: Just my determination to win in the game. Also my will to never give up. Though on the field I’m not the biggest or strongest player on the team. It’s really just me relying on my heart and my brain to get me through the game. Size isn’t everything, it’s what’s inside.

Q: What are your goals when you get started for the week of the Senior Bowl?

A: My goal is really just to get adapted to the culture, you know the big time difference too. I really just want to make a mark. Coming from a small town of New Jersey, some of these kids are from big time towns. You know it’s going to be really hard making a mark here but I’m gonna do everything I can.

Q: How do you feel about getting invited?

A: I feel pretty honored to be invited. You know I had a rough junior year and ended a few games short. Especially senior year getting hurt and missing a few games, it was just a minor setback for me. It’s a real great honor to put the pads on one more time before going to play college ball.

Q: Why do you think you were invited?

A: I think because I have the skills of a D1 player but not necessarily the size. It’s a great chance to show that size doesn’t mean everything when coming to game being played. I can play great regardless of my size and just have fun.

Q: What do you think you can get out of going to the Senior Bowl?

A: You know it’s college coaches there so their the real deal. I just want to get a good experience and maybe learn a couple of things that can help me when I’m playing in college. Getting to meet new people too is always good and just making relationships that will hopefully last a lifetime.
