Fantasy Football Frenzy

Fantasy+Football+Frenzy

It is a Sunday afternoon, soda in one hand and popcorn in the other. My phone is open to ESPN fantasy football. For those of you who don’t know, Fantasy Football is a competition  in which participants select imaginary teams from among the players in a league and score points according to the actual performance of their players. This so called “game” has turned into one of the biggest online sports attractions out there.

Before the season starts, a team is selected from the 32 teams in the NFL. Once you have your team, you can add or drop players and even trade with people in your league. Every week, player’s fantasy stock changes. Some weeks players are good and some weeks they are bad. It is your job to manage and determine who you want starting on your teem that will give you the best opportunity to win.

As of Week 10, there are many surprises and disappointments among the NFL. I am now going to tell you who you want to have starting on your team this week and who you want on the bench.

Starting Line-Up

– Nick Foles (Philadelphia Eagles)- While coming of a win against the Raiders with 7 touchdown passes and a 153.8 passer rating, Foles is playing great football and takes on the Packers in Week 10. With Clay Matthews out of the lineup, the Packers will have a tough time getting pressure on Foles.

-Jimmy Graham (New Orleans Saints)- Jimmy Graham is coming off of another great fantasy week as one of the highest rated Tight Ends in football. Graham and the Saints go up against a Dallas defense with an unhealthy Demarcus Ware and shaky secondary. But, watch out for his injured leg to be a factor in Sunday’s game.

– Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers)- Newton has had six passing touchdown and two rushing touchdowns since Week 5 against the Cardinals. The Atlanta defense has allowed many points this season and has played very poor throughout the season. Keep an eye on Newton and expect him to tuck the ball eve once in a while.

– Zac Stacy (Saint Louis Rams)- After Stacy rushed for 134 yards against the Seahawks defense, you should be comfortable starting him against the Titans. A sprained ankle did not keep him from practicing all week, but continue to monitor him up to game time.

 Bench:

– Geno Smith (New York Jets)- Smith threw two touchdown passes Sunday — to the other team! The Jets defense was not able to stop the Bengals, and they have little chance to stop Drew Brees, who is coming off a bye.

– Alex Smith (Kansas City Chiefs)- Even though the Chiefs are undefeated and the offense has played fairly well, Alex Smith is only an average fantasy quarterback. He has only thrown 3 interceptions and he has only thrown a touchdown pass in only 4 games this season.

– Joe Flacco (Baltimore Ravens)- Flacco has struggled to pass the ball efficiently this season against top-notch defenses. The Bengals are nothing short of a great defense. Flacco will have a tough time passing the ball and will depend on the running game and the defense to beat the Bengals.

– Ray Rice (Baltimore Ravens)- Although Rice has not been completely healthy, he has not been able to be effective catching the ball or running the ball. This puts the Ravens offense in a bind because Flacco is not living up to his new contract and Rice has been injury prone and inconsistent.
