Concerts allow us to express ourselves and the love we have for our favorite musical artists and to allow us to connect to them on a different level, and Harry Styles does not disappoint.

Former One Direction member, Harry Styles, has grown in popularity more than ever.  Since the band has broken up in 2015, Styles has had a very successful solo career, with his self-titled debut album selling over one million copies, and his newest studio album, “Fine Line” selling almost two million copies. Styles originally announced his world tour, “Love on Tour” in November 2019 that would begin in April 2020 and run from October 2020, but due to the pandemic, the tour was postponed for over a year later. None of less, in July 2021 the tour was announced to be back in but for North America only, since international travel is still banned from the pandemic, and would run from September to November 2021.

My sister and I had the privilege to see one of his shows at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 14, 2021.  To say that the show was incredible would be a total understatement.

The first thing to note is how a Harry Styles concert is not just an ordinary concert and how people showed up to his show in full fashion and glam.  Many participants came to the arena like it was the Met Gala, showing up in outfits inspired by his own style, inspired by one of his songs, and even costumes.  An essential and must-have that everyone brought to compliment their stunning outfits were boas, to match Harry’s most recent new accessory that he loves to pair with his outfits.

Fans wait in anticipation as they went for the one and only to join the stage, but in the meanwhile, an alternative/indie singer named Jenny Lewis was his opening act and showed off her own aesthetic and nine-song setlist.

Finally, Harry makes his big entrance, wearing a shimmery gold collared dress shirt and classic black high-waisted trousers, and starts the setlist with one of his newest singles and bright, upbeat song, “Golden.”  Big screen and strobe lights are hung up above the circle platform to capture the visuals of the song and himself performing live during the concert.  The beginning of the setlist consists of his more uplifting and frolic songs including his other hit “Adore You” and then slows things down a little with more meaningful and emotional ballads like “She” and “Two Ghosts/Falling.”  Through the show, Harry made sure to stay in touch, interact and talk to the crowd often in between songs.  Closing out the show, Harry performs his most notable and well-known hits in the encore, including “Sign of the Times” “Watermelon Sugar” and “Kiwi.”

Overall, Harry Styles is a must-see and one of the most loving musicians in the industry and cares deeply about his fans and shows his passion for music over and over again with every live performance he does.
