That’s how many mass shooting took place in the United States in 2017 and they are many more to come if nothing is change, when it comes to the gun control law. A mass shooting is known as an incident involving multiple victim of firearms-related violence, also another unofficial meaning is when 4 or more people are shot without a cooling-off period.

The last mass shooting took place on October 1st, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada at a country music festival, were over 500 people were shot and 58 people were pronounced dead. In total there has been 948 victims that were killed in mass shootings. These mass shootings can take place anywhere, anytime schools, nightclub, concert, cinema, and even a church.

22% Percent of Americans own one or more guns. They are estimated to owned at least 265 million guns. Some of the guns that Americans own are known to be deadly, they are able to purchase automatic manchine gun, which is what is most commonly use when it comes to mass shooting.

Have you heard of the Trolley Problem? Here how it goes. Imagine you are in a trolley and you notice the trolley is going really fast and it is showing no side of stopping, on one side there is 1 guy tied up in the tracks and on the other side they are 5 guys tied on to the tracks. Next to you is a lever, if you pull it the trolley will hit the 1 guy if you don’t the trolley will hit the 5 guys. So question is, Do you pull it or not?

Most likely people will pull the lever and kill the one person than the five, even though every life is valuable it’s not worth to kill five. People say, they have gun for self defense and to protect them from any form of danger but, it’s not worth killing hundreds of people just because one person is trying to stay alive. They shouldn’t banned guns from everyone, but enforce the law.

They say that more public mass shootings occur in the U.S. than in any other country in the world.  It doesn’t come to a surprise, mass shootings are just sadly common in the US. Nowhere is safe to go in this country without thinking if a shooting can occur any second. Some states people are freely able to walk around with a gun in their hands, and not worry that they can get in trouble.

People say that these are the rights, that it’s part of the second amendment. The second amendment really says “ A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep bear arms, shall not be infringed.” The second amendment is archaic, the true purpose of the Second Amendment was to prevent the new Federal Government established in 1789 from disarming the state militias and replacing them with a Federal standing army. This amendment doesn’t relate to the present; it’s a go to statement people say when they are declaring their “rights”, but in reality they are just saying something that was useful 228 years ago.
