One of Us: Ms. Smolenski

One of Us: Ms. Smolenski

Before joining the HHS math department this year, Ms. Smolenski graduated from Edison High School in 2010. She went onto to Rowan University to earn her degree in Mathematics and K-12 Education in 2014 and is currently working toward her Master’s in School Leadership at Wilmington University.

Before HHS, she spent three years teaching at Geometry and Algebra 1 at the Gloucester Township campus of Camden County Technical School.

I was inspired to go into education because… I want to to show students that they have what it takes to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others.

My least favorite thing about my job is… waking up early to get to work early.

The thing I enjoy the most about doing my job… is seeing students proud of themselves for overcoming obstacles they didn’t think they could.

My biggest fear is… the possibility of zombies being real.

One thing about me that would surprise people is… one day I would love to become an athletic director.

When I´m not in school, you can find me… playing with my dogs and relaxing outside when the weather is nice!

One thing I learned after my first year at HHS is… that there is always a shoulder to lean on when you need it most.
