One Of Us: Mr. DiStefano

Mr. Michael Distefano is a well-known member of the Hammonton High School faculty. After all, he’s been working here for 20 years. Despite this,  could there be some things that might suprise you about him? Of course there are! Mr. DiStefano received his degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, and soon after became a US History teacher at Hammonton.

I decided to become a teacher because…I wanted to help others like the teachers in my life helped me. Also, my love for history!

I get to hangout with the other teachers outside of school… not very often.

Teaching has taught me… the importance of the role of parents in a students life, and it has helped me to be a better parent.

One thing most of your students don’t know about me is… that I can sing, and very well.

My favorite place in the world is… the beach… any beach.

If you were an animal… I would be an eagle, because they are so majestic but so strong, and they can fly.

I look up to… soldiers, the men and women in the military.

One fun fact about me is that… when I played basketball, I could 360○ dunk and I blocked the shot of a 6”10  player.

I find myself, seeing the teenage version of you in a student… not very often.

One quote to live by is… “Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be.” – Abraham Lincoln
