The upcoming fantasy/sci-fi film “Black Panther” has many people stirring as it is the first Marvel African -American based story. Creating the most buzz though is the elaborate soundtrack that came out a few days prior to the release of the film set for February 16th.

A few of the songs from the soundtrack “Black Panther” were earlier released including song “Pray For Me” by The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar. In this particular song both artists describe the struggles of being a man of the people corresponding to the character in the film T’Challa. The Weeknd views through the eyes of the hero, showing his constant burden of protecting both the people and himself.

The artist sings the lyrics “I’m always ready for a war again, Go down that road again.” Explaining the life of the prince T’Challa and his awareness that when problem arises, it’s his job to step up to the plate. He also says in the song, “Tell me who’s gon’ save me for myself, When this life is all I know.”

Again showing the struggle of choosing between himself and his people with the status he has. Other highly known artists including Travis Scott, Schoolboy Q and Khalid are bringing the movie more to life through the soundtrack. This drawing attention to the younger crowds who listen to these artists everyday music.
