Justin Timberlake’s Concert is a TKO

Justin Timberlakes Concert is a TKO

Jenna Sanfilipo

After a seven year break from music, Justin Timberlake is back and better than ever.  Back in January, Timberlake release his single “Suit & Tie” that lead to his two part album The 20/20 Experience.  That summer he went on tour with Jay-Z, and now he was his own world tour.

With 58 North American shows, we were lucky enough to attend one.  On Sunday, November 10th, was the day Philly fans were counting down to.  We had big expectations for the concert after seeing Justin’s performance VMAs, and he did not disappoint.

The Wells Fargo Center was filled from top to bottom of women in about their 20s, perhaps showing their love from back in his N*Sync days.  In fact, there were so many people that the show had origninally sold-out, and Timberlake added another show in February for those who could not get tickets.

The show opened with a countdown on the giant TV screen that stretched out the whole length of the stadium.  Everything went black once it got to zero.  Then the screen light up with the shadow of the orchestra.  Then it was just Timberlake singing “Pusher Love Girl.”  The stage then opened up, and the band came out of the floor.

Every concert takes months of planning between the dancing and the lights and stage set up. Dancing is always a key point, and a top priority for this performance. Timberlake is regarded by many as the new king of pop, and, in order to keep earn and keep this title, months and months of work was put into working with his dance crew in order to tell a story as his performance progressed.   Not only was his music a memory to many (some who cried to his presence) but the dancing is what made his performance a night to remember.

Lighting was a key factor in the show. It’s use during the performance was deliberate and creative. In a very exciting upbeat song, laser lights were used to pump up the crowd as the rainbow of colors circled them. However, when the time came for a slower or very sentimental song such as his hit single “What Goes Around Comes Around,” the lights dimmed.

The most memorable part of the show was Timberlake’s encore.  After leaving the stage, he came back to sing five more songs: “Take Back the Night,” “Murder,” “Poison,” “Suit & Tie,” “Sexy Back,” and last, but certainly not least, “Mirrors.”

Overall, during the three hour performance, Timberlake had the crowd up on their feet singing their hearts out.  The king of pop put on a show that fans will never forget.  I

We suggest buying your tickets now when this top-rate concert returns in February show now before it sells out. Without a doubt, Timberlake will be bringing the “sexy back.”
