MLB Early Season Predictions
The MLB season is almost here and early predictions are out and here are my Playoffs and awards early predictions
National League Playoffs
NL Central- Pittsburgh Pirates
NL East- Washington Nationals
NL West- Los Angeles Dodgers
Wildcards- San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs
The NL has great competition. The two newcomer teams in here (Padres,Cubs) have had a GREAT offseason to become automatic playoff contenders. I believe the Washinton Nationals have the best chance to make it to the World Series. The two sleeper teams that could not only crash the playoffs but go all the way are the St. Louis Cardinals and the Cubs.
American League Playoffs
AL Central- Cleveland Indians
AL East- Boston Red Sox
AL West- Seattle Mariners
Wildcards- Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels
In the AL you either had a bad offseason or a great one. The Mariners had a great one and the A’s had a bad one. The Mariners are my early favorite to come out of the AL with additions such as, Nelson Cruz, Seth Smith and Austin Jackson, and utility player Rickey Weeks. Add them with young talent and great pitching… man they are a scary team.
World Series
Washington Nationals v.s. Seattle Mariners
Mariners win 4-2
If the Mariners can stay healthy there isn’t a lot of teams that could beat them in a 7 games series. I believe if they win the World Series would be Kyle Seager. The Nationals are good but their lack of power hitters.
Awards
NL MVP
Troy Tulowitzki- Colorado Rockies- SS
If healthy hands down top 3 player in the league. He was batting .340 before getting injured last year and cruising to MVP. All he has to do is take care of his legs and he will cruise toward MVP no doubt
Honorable Mentions: Andrew McCuthcen(PIT), Clayton Kershaw(LAD)
AL MVP
Mike Trout- Los Angeles Angels- OF
I pick Mike Trout to win MVP for the second straight year. He is the best player in the league without a doubt. The ultimate 5-tool player and i can’t see anyone taking this award away from him.
Honorable Mentions: Kyle Seager(SEA), Josh Donaldson (TOR)
NL CY Young
Clayton Kershaw- Los Angeles Dodgers
For the same reasons as Trout I can’t see anyone taking this award away. He is great, he makes the bad hitter horrible, the good hitters awful, and the great hitter bad. His junk is out of this world. No one can hit him plan and simple
Honorable Mentions: Max Scherzer(WAS), Jose Fernandez (MIA)
AL CY Young
Feliz Hernandez- Seattle Mariners
I believe the Mariners are going to break out this year. If so hernandez will win the Cy Young. His fastball is great great and his junk is amazing. If the Mariners are successful he will be the CY Young.
Honorable Mentions: Corey Kluber(CLE), Tuijan Walker (SEA)
