The 2016 Presidential bids feature a variety of candidates. Here are the major contenders and their stance on two major issues of debate: abortion and gun control.

 

I. Abortion

Republicans:

  • Donald Trump: After years of being pro-choice, Trump has come out and declared he was pro-life.
  • Ben Carson: Ben Carson supports the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. which would make it illegal to have an abortion after 20 weeks of fertilization, although there is exceptions of rape, incest, or the life of the mother.
  • Marco Rubio: Marco Rubio also supports the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

Democrats:

  • Bernie Sanders: Bernie Sanders is a very big supporter in women’s choice has been pro-choice his whole life. He does not want to return to the days in back-room abortion clinics where women would be maimed or killed, but supports a safe environment where women feel free to do what they would like.
  • Hillary Clinton: Hillary Clinton thinks that abortion should remain legal, but rare by supporting adoption or foster care.
  • Martin O’Malley: Martin O’Malley think abortion should remain legal and wants to give $101 million over the next 6 years.

II. Gun Control

Republicans:

  • Donald Trump: Donald Trump opposes gun control but supports the ban on assault weapons.
  • Ben Carson: Ben Carson is extremely 2nd amendment and believes to not “tamper with it”. Carson believes americans should not have to have registration to buy guns.
  • Marco Rubio: Marco Rubio believes that there should be something done about gun violence but to know mess with the constitution

Democrats:

  • Bernie Sanders: Bernie Sanders wants to shield gun manufacturers from the people who do insane things with these guns. He also wants instant background checks and for no former criminal to own a gun.
  • Hillary Clinton: Hillary Clinton believes that gun culture in America has grown way “out of balance.” And that it is ridiculous that anybody, anywhere, at any time could buy a gun.
  • Martin O’Malley: Martin O’Malley wants to ban assault weapons, limit clip size, & require fingerprints.
