How do students spend a day off?

At Hammonton High School, like many schools, a day off at school means a nice realizing day at the beach. This past weekend happened to be Memorial day weekend, and Hammonton Public Schools were all closed on Monday giving kids throughout this town a much needed rest. Now what these kids do on this day off is normally pretty similar. This being said many kids tend to head down to the beach of their choice and spend the day in the sun by the water.

For many kids the beach is a great way to relax.

“I love just laying in a beach chair and catching some sun for once” Alfonso said. “Being a baseball player it is hard fitting relaxation into my schedule so I am happy that I got to go down this weekend.”

Many other students around Hammonton High School, like senior LT Struble, feel the beach is a time to have fun and get active.

” I love playing different kinds of sports on the beach,” Struble said. “Playing beach volleyball is the probably my favorite thing to do while on the beach.”

Now, for every kid that loves a day off for the beach there is one that dislikes it at the same time. Student Benjamin Bevan feels like learning is much more important on a day off.

” I love that we have off of school to honor those who have died for us but, instead of going to the beach I plan on hitting the books hard,” said Bevan.

So whether a student is on the beach relaxing, playing sports, or even catching up on some studying students seem to love the idea of having a day away from the desk. No matter who you are or what type a person comes around everyone appreciates a nice day off from some hard work.
