Prom season is approaching quickly, so say hello to one of the most stressful and expensive part of your high school career.
Talking about prom already even stresses me out, so much to do in so little time. Plus statistics say students attending prom spend over $1,100 on everything that comes with going to this magical fun filled night.

So what is so stressful about prom?

Students have to start planning early and saving tons of money. The things student start to plan early on is Who’s asking who, The perfect dress shopping, Tux renting, hairstyles and booking the appointments, nail appointments. This is all the planning for getting ready for prom. Yet, the major planning and the major expenses come from How much tickets are going to cost, who’s sitting with who at the prom tables, renting limos and party buses, who’s riding with who, who’s all staying with who for prom weekend, and lastly getting a place to stay for the weekend.

“The most stressful thing about prom is finding a dress that fits you and your style,” said junior Alex Vega. “Flowers are another stressful thing about prom cause they have to match your dress.”

She plans to go shopping for a dress early.

Is it any different for guys? Not according to senior Ian Hull.

“The most stressful thing about prom i would have to say is getting everything ready on time,” he said.

A common theme with the girls seem to factor from the dress. Samantha Kelly offered advice on how to reduce all that stress.

“To reduce that stress, you should go dress shopping early so that it gives you more time to find a dress and make the changes you need or want before its too late.” she said.

Alex Weikel stated, “Trying to save the money for prom is the most stressful and says you have to budget to help reduce that stress.”
